THE HOLIDAYS!

It has been such a fast and crazy year! First the unexpected birth of my son Joseph. Then, the beginning of Beautifly. Just those 2 adventures were and still are full of surprises!. My son doesn't stop surprising me with his determination and with his new discoveries every day. This December we decided to cut down our own Christmas tree from a Tree farm 1 hour away from home. It was exciting for the kids because they wanted to pick the "PERFECT" tree. They loved the hay ride to the location. It was even more special that the grandparents and uncle came along. My son Jonavan was so happy...he had a permanent smile on his face. He even said "This is the best family fun day!" and even though it wasn't something I would like to do again...what my son said made everything all worth it. I think I'm more of a fake tree kida person. I don't have to water it and it holds all my ornaments..hehehehe..
My Boys went on a trip with their Grandpa to Santa's Town in College Station this year. They came home with all kinds of stories and goodies. Maybe next year..we'll do that instead. They took pictures with Santa, went on a hay ride at night and saw a bunch of little villages full of decorations and lights, they fed some deer, rode some ponies and roasted their own food. I love the Christmas Holidays because everything is just so magical for the children!
As for me..I've been busy doing Christmas photos. This was new to me and I was really caught off guard a little. I must say though..not too shabby for my 1st year! Everyone loved their photos and after all..that's all that matters. Next year, I will take our family portrait waaaayyy before the rush because we didn't get to take any this year. As always..I'm behind the camera and really don't have many people who would take our photo. Boooo...
One thing that I've learned this Holiday season is to think ahead 3 months in advance. So, I'm already getting ready for Valentine's day. BOUDOIR BOUDOIR BOUDOIR...what better gift to give that special someone in your life? It's unique, beautiful and intimate. Only for his eyes..LOVE IT!
NOW...I AM SO READY FOR THE NEW YEAR!! wooohooo!!

Contest Winner!

IN THE PHOTO: 1ST PRICE WINNERS OF THE CUTEST COUPLE CONTEST BRITTNEY, DANIEL AND THEIR FAMILY!! CONGRATULATIONS GUYS...YOU WERE AMAZING!
October happened way too fast! This whole year seems to never have started...but it's about to end!
So many things going on...from the kids getting sick, them me, doing shoots of a total different type, meeting different people and trying to please everyone. I'm actually at a point where I had to turn down some people...and it broke my heart! Me..TAnia...turning down people?? What's going on around here? I just honestly didn't think that I was going to get so busy all of a sudden! I had to actually sit back and think about my time...I have NONE!! and I'm one person. I do what I can and that's all I'm going to do for now on. I'm still trying to fill up for December...so if you're interested please contact me via email at beautiflyphotography@yahoo.com or message me on facebook.
I have so many things that I have planed for the future! Photography is the best thing in the world to me but, I've discovered a new way of incorporating another part of art to my portraits. I love to put texture in my photos. I'm learning to add a different kind of dimension into them which..depending on the photo..it gives the photo a fine art feel. This is something new...and I'm still learning but I LOVE IT!
One of the things that has really been so AWESOME and one of my clients discovered for me was...A STUDIO!! OMGosh...I'm super excited about that! I really didn't want to have a studio before but, now that the Holidays are around the corner..and it will be cold out (sometimes) I figured that a studio would be a great asset! I really want to keep with the whole urban feel...outside poses..just people being themselves...I love that! We'll see how it goes in the future...but just keep in mind that if you want studio poses..just ask! I can't wait to put up all the photos that I took of my 1st wedding. I must say, it was pretty fun!! This weekend I have another wedding and I'm super excited about it...I'm ready...let's do this!

6 AWESOME MONTHS!

The Cutest Couple Contest is over! That was a crazy competitive contest, right up to the last seconds!!. I had 18 couples enter the contest and they all did an Amazing job getting their family and friends to vote. I'm excited to do their sessions...that will be FUN! One of the sessions is scheduled for this month but the other two won't take place until next year.
October is one of my favorite months of the year. The weather is the best..the humidity is low (good hair days for me...YAY!) and it's just perfect..not too hot or too cold. What I love the most is the SHOPPING for new outfits part...I mean really...who doesn't love to shop? My boys look so cute with their sweaters and their beanies! LOVE IT! As for me... I love the boots, sweater, scarfs and all the dark colors..my Fav!
Usually when this season comes around for some reason I get this urge to scrapbook! I try to get organized because believe me...I have hundreds and hundreds of photos that need to be displayed somehow. Every photo has a story to tell and what better way to tell it than in a scrap book? I try to do one each year but, it's impossible with my schedule...so, I'm behind a few years!
If I'm not wiping noses, changing diapers, feeding the baby, washing, folding...basically being a Mom to 3 boys and a wife, sister, friend and daughter...I'm working. It has gotten a little crazy around here lately. Joseph (8 months) is crawling all over the place. He's like a little scavenger...looking for everything and anything to put in his mouth! Jesse (9) is doing fractions in school...(I HATE DOING FRACTIONS) and Jonavan (5) is learning to write!
My Husband helps me as much as he can. He too just took on a little new venture of his own and life has gotten a little easier but for some reason, a lot more demanding.
This month marks 1/2 a year since I decided to go forth with Beautifly Photography. So far..so good! It's been so MUCH FUN! I've done 20+ sessions, have met so many new people! IT'S GREAT! My goal is to give each family their own stories to tell with the photos that I provide for them....you know.....MEMORIES THAT WILL LAST A LIFE TIME, ART TO DISPLAY IN THEIR HOMES!
NOTHING WILL MAKE ME HAPPIER =)
God knows that I went into this with only a vision...nothing else. So, anyone that asks for my services is a Blessing and I count every single one of them.
I'm doing weddings next...and no...I don't have all the fancy equipment but, I have my ideas and the little knowledge that I've learned in these past 12 years, with that....we'll see how it turns out. I will definitely keep you posted! (Pray for me...heeeheehee)

ENGAGEMENT: A NEW CHAPTER

Thursday, September 16, 2010

Hi Everyone!
Today feels so good out, it reminded me of how close we are to all the up coming celebrations. Christmas is around the corner and I've decided to do a contest for the CUTEST COUPLES! For more details please go to my facebook page. Also, I've gotten a lot of requests to do weddings, 15's and Sweet 16's. I didn't want to do this originally because it was just going to be me and you can't be in 2 places at one time, so I've decided to bring in my sister. She's an Amazing photographer and has 2 years of experience. We're going to be a Fantastic team! YAY!! I'm so excited!
Another thing that I want to do is TRASH THE DRESS!
I have a scheduled trash the dress session for next year but would really want to do one this year as well. I'll be looking out! These TRASH THE DRESS sessions are not just for brides, it is also for PROM!...TRASH THE PROM DRESS!!
These make some AWESOME photos and I can't wait to start shooting these!
So, if any one know about any person interested, please contact me via email: beautiflyphotography@yahoo.com

BOUDOIR!!!

The BOUDOIR session was a success! Phewwww....I can breath now! I was so excited and nervous at the same time about the session BUT the girls made it so easy for me. My ideas kept coming and coming and I wished I would have had more time with all of them! At the end my Sisters were all very helpful. Thank God for them because they were all a part of this session's success. Patricia did the make up, Angie was my back up photographer and Jasmine did their hair. The setting was perfect and all in all the day was a mission completed! I can't wait to start booking all the BOUDOIR parties in the future!
If you are interested in booking a party, please contact me at beautiflyphotography@yahoo.com or you could always leave me a message via facebook. All the parties will be held in a hotel of choice, your investment will be $175. Practice Make-up Session!

Well, the night turned out to be so much fun! Miriam worked her magic on me, Meagan and Brittni. Poor Miriam had to make do with poor lighting at my house, but I must say...the lighting was not a big deal! The make-up turned out FABULOUS! I wish we would have done this on the weekend though because after I got my make-up done, I was ready to go out! LOL! She had a little of variety to work with. Meagan has the blue eyes, Brittni has the green eyes and I have the brown eyes. She gave Meagan a very nice mixture of colors, which looked totally AMAZING! She gave Brittni a softer look, which looked BEAUTIFUL! I asked for the smoky eye because I love the way other girls look when they do this kind of look. I've tried it a few times myself, but it never came out any where close to what Miriam did. I LOVED IT! WOOHOO!! GO MIRIAM! Can't wait to see you do your thing in July! You Go Girl! Ok, time for hair! Hair will be done by my very talented little sister Jasmine. Believe me, she might be young...but she knows what she's doing. Pictures of her work soon!

Boudoir Update "Makeup Artist"

The boudoir session is still going on. It will take place in Houston on July 25th. I was originally aiming for 6 girls but I now have 8! I am so excited and nervous at the same time. This will be my first time shooting a big group of girls on one day. I know that everything will come together just fine, I'm confident in my work =) I have a certain look that I'm aiming for and the makeup will be done by my best friend Miriam. The funny thing is that she and I have been doing what we love to do for 12 years now! We both started at the same time and at the same place. We were just teenagers starting our fist jobs. Well, who would have thought that we were going to love our jobs so much that we made it our careers. She is very passionate about her work and any one who takes one look at her couldn't deny that she is AWESOME! Can't wait for our little practice makeup session tonight. She will be practicing on a few girls, mainly my sisters and friends. Hopefully I'll be able to display the photos tomorrow! Stay tuned...;-)

Super Excited!

One of my favorite things to do is read. I am HUGE fan of the Twilight Saga and can't wait to see the up coming movie Eclipse!
Before I read Twilight, the Harry Potter series was my main interest. I read all the books about 3 times each! This summer my family and I will be celebrating my son's birthday in Orlando, Florida. Can't wait because...WE'RE GOING TO ISLANDS OF ADVENTURE...WOOOHOOO!!!! Home of the new added theme---- HARRY POTTER!! I know, it's totally crazy BUT I absolutely love it! This has nothing to do with photography ( I KNOW ) BUT really... There has to be some recreation along the way. I am a total nut when it comes to my books. So..I guess I remain a kid at heart. This can be a real reward sometimes when my children are following my footsteps and want to read what I read. On the down side, I don't know what my husband thinks about it. He probably thinks I've lost my mind =) I love him, bless his heart. He puts up with my craziness all the time.

BOUDOIR PHOTOGRAPHY

This is just a little peek of the boudoir photos. I have done a few of these but unfortunately can't post them! I am trying to build up my portfolio and now, I'm looking for a few ladies who are willing to work with me. I will be putting these photos on my web site and on my blog. For this reason, I'm looking to find ladies that are not shy and who's husbands and or boyfriends are okay with their wives being my model. Boudoir photography is basically bedroom poses. No...there doesn't have to be any nudity involved AT ALL. It's really to show that EVERY girl is sexy no matter the size, color or whatever. The girls only have to pay $50 and they will receive a free 8x10 and I will shoot until I'm happy with all the poses. As far as "what to wear" I suggest for the girls to bring lingerie that they feel comfortable wearing. Even a cute cami and some boy shorts would be nice. If they are doing these for their husbands or boyfriends I suggest to bring something that reminds them of him. For example: a button down shirt, a jersey of their favorite team, a tie, a brief case, a guitar, boots, a utility belt...whatever they think would be sexy in the photo...BRING IT! For this shoot I will be renting a hotel room at a very nice 5 star hotel in Houston. Since at the time I don't have a studio of my own to be able to bring the girls to I figured that we could all meet at the hotel and do our shoots there. I have a few friends that will be working with me doing hair and makeup. The ladies will receive a free 8x10 of their shoot and will be able to purchase additional sheets at $10 a sheet 8x10's and under. $50 for the proof books and $150 for a photo album. This is a ONE TIME OFFER! Extra purchases are optional....you are not obligated to purchase anything whatsoever. I'm still new to this blog system but if you are interested leave me a message or email me at beautiflyphotography@yahoo.com. I'm also available on facebook!

Right now I'm looking for props that could be used in my photographs. Specially with children and new borns. I like to keep it simple and not distract from the little ones too much...I made a few of my own little props like the flower hats. I just need to find other flowers! What to do with little boys??? Any suggestions?
